Hey Lance,

Auction ended a few weeks ago but had no bidders. Might be what you need and he had it opening for 12GBPs so would be worth contacting him.

Quite right Rick, that is the jack issued to Bedford RL and MK, etc. Do not think it is correct for a WW2 Humber, the base plate is the same size and it will fit the stowage on a Humber, Dingo, etc, but body is larger and different shape to WW2 ones. Usually a date and NATO number on the other side as well.

These are the two that I have. I had a correct one for my Dingo, but it went with the sale. Is the third jack correct for something? Fourth pic is the correct jack I assume.

Sorry to slightly hijack the thread but on the sublect of jacks, I'm looking for a Lake and Elliot HY960 4 ton bottle jack. Very similar to the 'standard' L&E hydraulic jack but the handle rotates back and forth rather than up and down.

Anybody have one?

Default Lance / Richard

Lance; I believe your first one (Ern Lake) is a Carrier jack. What date is on it please?
I'd suggest the " correct one" is also originally carrier equipment. Is it dated 1943?
Richard; I can't see these really short jacks being original issue to an R.L. Bedford, (However, I can see the QMS issuing them for same)
My two Ern Lake 4 tonners are dated 1940 and 1941. I have seen a few different makes of the same type in cast steel and ally, one of which was a Britool at 4 1/2 ton (if my memory serves me correctly. A U.K. based forum member has told me of them, bearing 1960's dates, on epay.

.
Lynn,
I can assure you those jacks were part of the MK and RL kit and I have carried one on my QL for 20 years or more, they have a higher lift than you might imagine and there should be an extension block that slides over the top. Always carry a wood board as well in case of having to jack on softer ground.

Default Solex carb

I have a new Solex carb but can't identify its use: 35 RZFA IPO. Perhaps it is similar to the one you need. Perhaps someone can identify an application.
........... Brian

Brian/..
The Bedford uses a Solex 35 carb..
As do many other vehicles from a "Douche Bowl" (2CV Citroen )to a Ford Jeep..
But here is one that may be a hint in the right direction to identification..
Good luck..
