Mmmm...BMW R75, no? Where's the MG 42?

Did I see this bike at the Etobocoke Militaria Show about 10 years ago?

Can't be too many around.

Mike said it's not quite WW2, so my guess it is a Russian or Chinese copy. Perfect for reenactment or cruising around town without the risk of damaging a valuable original?

Default Wolf in sheep's clothing

It is a 1975 Chang Jiang. It was nicely chromed with black enamel....too shiny for this kid. I ordered a bunch of knock off logos and tags....still a real head turner....

cheers

Mike, a question...

How different are they to the original thing? Mechanically I mean.

Looks like heaps of fun

Default Chang Jiang

They are pretty much the same as the BMW R71 (1938)....updated to 12v although 6v models are even more similar to orig. Updated bearings and disc brake added. It does not go fast but certainly can handle 3 onboard. It does an even 60kph very nicely ....a word from the wise...it requires constant attention when driving....especially going around 90 Deg corners.

Only real problem is being late all the time because someone wants to talk to you about it. It really does attract alot of attention. But then Hey, is that not one of the reasons we who are addicted to Drab have this stuff....something someone else always wanted but never "dove in".
