Default Looking forward to it Rob...

bringing along a Morris Oxford young restorer, going to try and sway him to the dark/olive drab side of restoration. Can't stay long but it will be great. Any button grease zirks available your way ? Missing a bunch on the 17 pdr... Cheers for now Rob in Steinbach

Rob
Looking forward to seeing you and hopefully your new recruit. I think I met him when I was at your place a month or so back.

Hopefully you guys can stick around for the BBQ.

I assume you are talking about the alemite fittings. I do have a bunch of used brass ones off a 25 pdr hiding somewhere. I'll see if I can locate them. Otherwise I believe I have some steel ones.

Excellent Niel, I'll see you at my place for noon (or slightly before).

A couple of the diehards are driving their M38s out from Winnipeg, which is a 100 mile trip. Hopefully they make the trip without problem. Derk Derin will be following them in his commercial (air conditioned) truck in case they need a tow rope.

The BBQ will be the typical prairie dinner with all three major food groups represented: Steak (meat) potatoes (vegetable) and garlic bread (bread). For those who do not like steak (????( there will also be burgers and hotdogs.

I'll have bottled water for the tour, and we'll provide the pop etc afterwards. Otherwise, it's BYOB.

Looks like we should have from 10-15 guys coming out, which isn't bad considering the distance and the hectic schedule of everyone these days.

Default Great tour Rob...

although I could not stay for the overnight main event. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to see the guts of the Shilo Museum. Thank you Clive Curator. Maybe the biggest collection of runners and unrestored in Canada, up for debate. Clive gave us a special treat and gave a couple of the boys a ride in the M109...Sweet! I really appreciated Rob's input into the tour, he is a term employee, and as we all know here, a wealth of info. The dust bowl was full of CMP insights and woodticks. Clive has been working hard, more runners, he is doing what he can. Maybe the highlite of my tour being a CMP guy, was seeing a couple of 4 gallon flimsy's, minty! Also got some details on the Fat Plotting board cab ceiling hold downs. I will post those pics on my Fat thread. See pics of Jeeps some of the guys towed in for the
event.

Default Thanks Rob for hosting a great weekend!

What a great weekend of activities in the CFB Shilo area this weekend.A tour of the R.C.H.A. museum, the vehicle collection and dustbowl (un-restored vehicle storage compound) thanks to Clive the curator of the museum for his time! And then Rob hosted the P.C. BBQ at his home, tour of his collection and then the trail rides in the Sprucewoods forrest with the jeeps. My cheeks still hurt from smiling so much!Great to also spend time with old & new fellow members of Prairie Command who all seemed to enjoy themselves.Looking forward to the next get together (with jeep trail rides)!
Regards,Derk.

Despite the thundershower on Saturday evening, it was still a great weekend. I must say that by this evening I was exhausted. More photos will be posted to this thread once I upload from my camera and also once Ed sends me some of his. The trail rides were great, and I am positive that some of the Willys owners did not know what their trucks were capable of. May be the first time some of them have seen the Shilo sand in 40 years.
