The Royal Canadian Regiment was formed on 21 December 1883, when the ‘Infantry School Corps’ was authorized. This title was changed in 1892, to the ‘Canadian Regiment of Infantry’. On 24 May, 1893, Queen Victoria’s birthday, the honour of a
‘royal’ prefix was granted and The Regiment was redesignated "The Royal Regimentof Canadian Infantry".
MARK,

I didn't know what you were referring to about this date/anniversary ... so I Googled the date ... and came up with the above. IS the above what you refer to??? (NO ... no one gave me a hint I'm just a clever little MA ) Someone DID tell me Art Johnson's connection ( to Art) but didn't know about "Craig Tanner" so I Craig Tanner as well ... for service with the RCR (?)

Yes, Craig to, he's still serving, although on ERE at the moment. At one point we were both with the 1st Battalion, here in London (Wolseley Barracks).

Cheers
