Default Canadian Insurance military vehicle collections

Trying to find an appraiser for a Canadian military vehicle collection? I think we should start a thread for percieved values of our worldwide Canadian vehicles ,where accredited appraisers could educate themselves on value. These guys are all hot rod guys, and they need more visible data. Help me out here . Cheers Rob

When I transferred the registration for my M38A1, I needed both the receipt and an appraisal. So, I let my fingers do the walking and found a fellow who knew old British cars. He had some pie in the sky valuations, but quickly recognized the differences. His value was close to my paperwork. When I need to plate it, he will get the call for the inspection.

If you use Kijiji for valuations, you are going to be grossly misinformed. There are overpriced bad restorations posted there again and again.

If you want the MLU collective wisdom to chime in, post the condition and some pictures, then close the thread and entertain private messages with guys' suggested values.

Didn't find any other threads on MV insurance so I thought I would post it here.

I know more than a few people have a hard time finding insurance for these things. We either get a blank stare from the insurance companies or they simply state no. And the rare time they say yes, they want to charge you a metric ton even though it only leaves the yard a dozen times a year.

Found a great company here in Ontario that will insure pretty much any MV without a problem. When we called up and asked if they insure a MV we got a "sure, not a problem" as an answer.

The company is called Zehr Insurance Brokers Ltd in New Hamburg, Ontario.

We deal with Dave Stewart in their Vintage Car division. He is very helpful and got our whole fleet insured pretty quickly for a great price.

They got us under a fleet insurance due to all the vehicles, but they will also insure just one vehicle if that is what you got (though you should buy more because it is fun).

Hope that helps anyone looking for insurance.
