After all that work??!! Surely not?

I see it has the large steering box - was it a Ford FGT chassis?

Why no takers???

Default Too late

I just spoke with one of the sellers, it has been sold for the asking price of $700. It was a 4x4, no rear body, described as in "quite good shape". The Willys pickup has also been sold.

It has been modified to have a forlift on the rear. May have had the snot beat out of it, or it might have enough good parts to be useful.
I know nothing about it except that I saw the ad.

And here I didn't think they started making cab 13s until 1942.

1943 Chev army 4x4. Has not run for years. Running gear is complete and cab is restorable. It has two sets if wheels 16 inch and 20 inch. Come and take a look at it, trades/offers. It would make a good mudder or monster truck.
Comment: This truck deserves to be saved from the seller's suggested use. To Bob Carriere and the Hammond Barn Group - be aware, if you are plotting a border raid, this is deep in the country guarded by Bill Mulholland and Mike McKinley.

Default Recovery plans

Hi Bob & Rob,

That's good news, there is nothing like having the border guard on your side. I am sure Mike will be a great help.

If you do get it, there should be a fun 'down east' recovery trip coming this summer. Don't forget to plan a detour to the Island for Keith's and lobster etc.

Brian

Default More pictures

Here are the rest of the photos. Bill and I saw this one a couple of years ago, but the owner was not interested in selling it. The picture on Kijiji I think is an older one and is not too clear.

Default Sussex cab 11.....

HI Craig

Would be a good parts truck and if in Ontario I would probably be home by now......

Distance/fuel cost makes it prohibitive......

Strange how it did not sell at $400 and is now relisted at $500...... antiques do gain in value very quickly......

Default Kijiji Toronto - CMP

Listed as monster truck tires and axles
http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ139824351
The tires are too large for a CMP, axles look like they're from a M135, but the photos are mainly CMP.

Default A CMP it is

It's a Chev HUP, or more accurately, a wireless HUW...note the angled division panel behind the cab. Note too the four holes on the front left cowl where the overflow can would have been. That makes it a 1942. Running board (or boards?) is intact. Not a bad truck for the price.

Not a CMP but one of the dreaded HUx series. Perhaps Rob Clarke will scoop it up (wife permitting)????

Hmmm....

The Kijiji ad has had 175 visits, and this thread has had 115 visits. Should MLU be getting a spotter's commision?

Default Hmmm...is right

I do get a kick out of how much traffic MLU sees. For what has to be described as a very specialize area of interest, the number of daily hits on MLU is really surprising. There are lots of businesses out there that would give their eye teeth to see this much traffic.

Cheers Phil
