Default Ford CMP trouble lamp / Inspection lamp

Hi,

Does any one know what type of Cab Inspection lamp was used for Ford CMP's.

I believe the Chevys had their own type ....

Any pictures would be greatly appreciated.... I have a wartime British Inspection lamp with a 2 pin connector but this doesn't fit the socket in my f60 LAAT Cab 13

Kind regards

Mark

There's a picture in the back of the late version of the driver's handbook.

Unfortunately, I get an upload error when trying to add a picture to the message.

Hi Mark, The two pin type would suit a carrier (I would put my hand up for it)
The Ford CMP one is round, like a bulb base? (single center contact?) Correct?

Hi Mark,

Here is a scan from an F15 Drivers Handbook. It shows a drawing of what the inspection light looks like.

Wouldn't mind finding one myself! I repaired the dash socket a long time ago but have nothing to plug into it.

Cheers,

I have seen two types of CMP truck trouble lamps over the years. Both look similar to a standard shop trouble light, with a single pin candelabra plug at the end of the cord.

I see had the wooden handles ones, but I have also had the ones which were simply a commercial 110V rubber handles trouble lamp (as shown in the photo Jaques has shown) with an adapter in the standard 110V light screw socket to convert it to the 6 volt automotive bulb.

Thanks all for your very helpful posts !

It's always great to see an actual pic or diagram. First time I have seen the tool box listing ... Any one know where to find a Canadian tool box ?

Lynn.. I will need to keep the British lamp for our Bedford MW.... but if I see another here in England I'll give you a shout !

Cheers

Mark

I also have an American style trouble light that has the same plug end. Not sure if these were wartime produced or postwar but was told they were in Canadian service with some postwar vehicles.

It's wartime and is the standard light issued with tanks and no doubt other vehicles too.
