Default Morris C8 GS

Well after a lot of work I finally got to the tyre stage and the C8 drives out of the shed, good feeling even though the canvas is still to be done and a final tune up carried out. Will post a few pre restoration pictures when I get them uploaded as I was given a lot of in private service pictures when the C8 was a tow truck in Toowoomba and the other C8 used as a source of parts to make one complete vehicle. Still not known is what they where doing in Australia in the first place?
Put the picture with the champ in to show relative size as there isn't to many of the C8's around.
Paul

My word, you have been busy Paul. What a great looking truck. I wish mine was looking even remotely like that.
Can't wait for the restoration pics to come
Well done.
Cheers, Terry

Thanks Richard, a few more pictures of the Morris when it had finished military service, Toowoomba tow truck and then when the poor thing was left to rot prior to restoration. The water tank was part of the vehicle and has lots of parts not used in restoration, need to chase that up.The chassis number is 033 and the sacraficial vehicle was 035, two C8s made one.

Default Morris C8

Just had the canvas fitted and await the rope but thought I would show how the C8 is progressing, not much to do now.

Looking nice

I have a magazine somewhere , with the story of a C8 GS by David ? He bought a C8 GS in the UK and had it shipped to his home in the USA . He was a regular user on this forum some years ago. The C8 was badly damaged in a accident as he was driving it home from the shipping depot . .. somebody ran into the C8

Terrific job Paul, what are your impressions of the truck in general?
I think Mike was referring to "alleramilitaria" Dave Demorrow, he has not been on MLU for years though.

Rich.

Thanks guy's and there is still some work to do, not quite right with the engine as the carby is blocked somewhere and needs a good clean out. I will then be able to fine tune, goes well and starts first time but definitely needs that last fine touch. Good looking truck and would really like some history from the MLU old hands?
Got the rope today so maybe by the weekend it will be attached,
