Default 60 yr. old filters-yes or no?

It may be a no- brainer, but I have a quantity of 60 year old,N.O.S. military oil filters, etc. Is there a fairly long shelf-life,(60yrs?);should anyone use them in a prize vehicle or just relegate them to the curio shelf? The paper interiors must break down with time like everything else? Has anyone ever had bad experiences using N.O.S. fuel filters, oil filters, air filters, etc.?

HI cliff, i have no experience with old filters, but id say if your keen ot use one, place it in the meida that it is for- eg: fuel filters in a bowl of petrol and see what it does?
would this work?

Just an idea,

Ian.
