Default Canadian Dodge ūT APT

Hello all,

I am Danny Croone from the netherlands and new to the forum. Reason why i joined? Some 40 years ago my grandfather took apart a Canadian Dodge APT together with a US WC-51. Now we are left with a big puzzle
Hope to find some info on the APT, especially for identifying all the parts i find.
For that i require a (digital) partslist, already sent a PM to Grant Bowker but maybe somebody else can provide one?

The engine that is on the truck does not belong there, it is a T214 (likely from the US WC-51). The original T236 is present but in parts. No ID plate in the cabin as the glovebox door is not there (well, not found it yet) but there is a norwegian army plate inside the cabin. The framenumber is 91168137.

When the truck is "collected" together it will likely be sold. My grandfather is in his 80's and i do not have time to restore it, a shame.
I am sure i will folow up this post with questions....

Default Welcome Aboard - Jigsaw Puzzles are us

Hi Danny

Interesting puzzle, once bought a motorcycle that came in three baskets, yes it went back together and even ran well.

Agree shame you don't have the time to restore it, as you might find it an interesting challenge. If you do decide to take on the challenge of reassembly, other people have play the game of post pictures of parts and asking what is it with good success on MLU. At least here it is pretty certain what truck the parts came from, gets a little more challenging when parts are from lots of different trucks.

Moving on to the issue of selling the truck as a unit which is the best way to see that what looks to be a pretty solid truck actually gets restored, and not broken up for parts with lots of it just ending up as scrap.

To that effort to make a more attractive restoration project document as much as possible what parts are there. If you have space lay them out on like a blue tarp in groups of about meter square, so that each part can be seen them take pictures put a piece of paper, card etc. with a number in each photo group of parts. Photograph the truck so as to try and cover the whole truck.

Name of the game is to let a knowledgeable restorer get a clear picture of whats there and what the condition is.

Perhaps others on MLU could suggest other Dodge focused web sites the Netherlands or Europe which might be good to contact.

Best of luck.

Cheers Phil

Helo Phil,

Thank you for your advice.
I wil certainly document/photograph all parts but first i need a partslist for that.
Fortunately most parts from the WC-51 interchange with the APT but not all.
For example, i found splash guards (if that's what they are called) with different lenght. The T236 engine is a bit longer than it's american counterpart.

Same for the hood which also has a gap on the passenger side, apperantly for running through a tube (deep wading). Speaking of that, i found a waterproof distributorcap that does not seem to belong to the ATP as they where round (with threaded holes for the cables, example photo taken from this forum). Can this cap be a post war norwegian army upgrade? Not found the other half yet
Somebody suggested it might be for an M37...

Hello Danny,

Try contacting Grant Bowker, he has an extensive library of manuals.

Or Brian Asbury, see his reply to another thread years ago:
