Default Windscreen Arms (12 Cab)

Having decided to use one of my 12-cab windscreens to give the 11-cab some additional ventilation, I need the 'throw-out arms' - those curved, slotted arms with a pivot bracket at the end that hold the windscreen open, as in the attached photo. I need both left and right hand. Note these are different to the 13-cab ones.

Does anyone have any that they'd be willing to sell or trade?

Many Thanks,
Owen.

Default Cut new ones with plasma torch

Hi Owen

Mine were so rusted I had to cut new ones cutting them with a plasma torch. Do you have anything to use as a template? If not I will try and find my template probably can send them as a PFD file.

Cheers Phi

Phil,
I have the brackets that bolt to both the inner and outer frames, but nothing left of the arms themselves. If you can find your template, that would be a great help!

Owen.

Default Found The Original

Hi Owen

Sorry for the delay, found them is this what you are looking for the little arms? If so how about instead of trying to get the template so it will print correctly I just make you two and mail them to you.

If thats OK just private message me your mailing address. Don't worry about cost just make a donation to MLU. Postage looks like it should be under $20 US dollars.

If you are looking at cooling down the cab does your truck have the hooks so that you can run with the doors open? It makes a huge difference on my truck, problem with opening the windscreen is if you don't have the hood well sealed (though this might not be a problem on Pat 11) opening the windscreen means you get hot air blowing in around the hood. This is particularly noticeable if you are sitting still or moving slowly such as in a parade.

Cheers Phil

Good point. Although not an original factory fit, my Cab 11 had been 'field-modified' with the hooks and my intention is to reinstate them.

Thanks,
Owen.

Default Parts into the mail

Hi Owen

Took the two window windshield hold out bars down to the Post Office on Monday September 17 and mailed them off to you so we will see how long it takes regular mail to get them to you. Even took them down to town in my Pattern 12, excuse for a drive.

Cheers Phil

I'm sure you didn't need an excuse, but at least they were dispatched in style!

Owen.

Default One week in the mail not bad

Hi Owen

Glad they arrived and only a week in transit Post Office is slipping up. It is regularly taking that long for them to deliver our club newsletters out of state.

Thanks for making the donation to MLU good way for both of us to support MLU with out the amusement of trying send money from one country to another to an individual.

Remember to post photos of the conversion once completed. Wonder if this was ever done in the field?

Cheers Phil
