... hmm, not really, Mike.

It says: "Geb. Rgt. 98. Britische Beutewagen Morris sind viel besser als unsere."

Translation: "Mountain Regiment 98. British captured Morris cars are much more better than ours."

BTT with an interesting photo found on Axis History Forum > Axis Equipment > The Ron Klages Panzers & other vehicles> Soft Skin Vehicle Photo Repository. On the left on the picture below we see a Canadian Ford F15 4x2 with Cab no.11, many of which were captured in France, the Balkan and Africa in the early stages of the war.

This one is definitely an Umbauwagen as the rear cargo body seems to be replaced by one with higher sides, an open front or side access, possibly to let soldiers (dis)mount. The fixed cab roof was also replaced by an integral canvas cover over the driver's area plus the rear body. Trafficators were added and the headlights have been replaced by "civilian" units. The front bumper is missing. Wish we could see more of this truck....

No wonder they lost the war. They were all so short!

Default Tony

Much less room to turn in, over there. Over here in Kalgoorlie, the streets are nice and wide. I'm just waiting for the locals to grow some grass on their road frontages

Default Grass in Kalgoorlie.

You must be kidding, Grass in Kalgoorlie?

Perhaps it'll fall from the sky............with the snow!
There's more grass on the moon.

I bet it's STILL gets hot enough there to boil a monkeys bum. Enjoy!

Hanno,
It is in the current issue of CMV No.143.

The photo you posted on the 30th May (post 273) is in that issue, but not so stretched and distorted.

Regards Rick.

FAT used by German Air Force - note the marking "WL" which stands for "Wehrmacht Luftwaffe".

Ford F30 Cab 11 next to a conventional Ford (1939 I think), both in Wehrmacht Heer (German Army) use.

Just spotted this one; not sure if it's been posted before.

Ex-6th Australian Division. Not well 'rendered useless', though - look at those tyres!! Yet another gift to a mechanised transport-strapped German Army.

It looks to me like a 2B1 body, but the supports for the tarp are a pattern I'm not familiar with.

Hello All,

I was looking on You Tube at a Lancaster Bomber documentary and during a bit of background about German occupation of parts of Europe this image popped up. Accessed 16th January 2021 from, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMgZ62jyPiQ Screen shot taken at the 0:27 minute mark.

It looks like a CMP that is under new management?

Kind regards
Lionel
