ID needed on these parts
Can anyone help with identifying these parts? I'm not sure if they are CMP but over the years they have come in boxes of Canadian spares.
Thanks in advance James

Identifying CMP parts?
Hi James,
Can help perhaps with the first picture and the last picture. First one looks like a rifle barrel clip as attached to a rifle holder. See attached. The last picture is similar to two items which I took off a spare cabin I had. See attached. They were located at the rear of the cabin at the joint between the roof and lower back section. Unfortunately I took them off pre digital camera days so I did not record the location. Think they were in the middle of the cab however. Now I photograph everything 10 times! In the days of 35mm film that would have cost a tenner. I have no idea what they were used for. Only guessing maybe a map case holder to drop into the slot. Some canvas map cases have a steel band across the back which could fit into it. Could be 100% wrong, not the first time, but someone will probably know their purpose. Hope this is of some help. Cheers,

Thanks Jaques,
Those are the same thoughts I had. I wondered if the last picture is a version of the hooks used for holding the side screen bag on the rear wall of the cab? James

Side curtain bags
Hi Hanno,
That solves a 20 year old mystery for me too. On the Australian built cabs they seem to have a different arrangement for retaining the curtains with a catch attached to a bracket on the lowers cab back. It can be seen through the loop of the rubber hose in the picture. The door lugs on the bottom of the side curtains sat in wooden blocks. The curtain bag holders came off an Australian built cab too so wonder why they were there? BTW yes, that is a modern fire extinguisher in the old holder. I want one that works in an emergency and not a decoration! Cheers,

Thanks Hanno,
Are these a Ford type? I have others which are more of a right angle bracket which I have seen in Chev trucks or is it a late war pattern? James

Speaking for Canadian production: Ford used a curtain bag with four flat leather loops, Chevrolet used a bag with four metal buckles like on canvas straps. So the hooks on the back wall differed too. I know of 2 x 2 variations - see http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...874#post184874
So much for standardization, eh?!?
