Hi All
Some of you may be following my restorartion of my 1942 C15 4x2 and I need some help with some photo's / dimensions of the rear stowage box's fitted to the underside of my wood / steel composite Gs body on my truck. If anyone out there can help it would be greatly appreciated also some nice detailed photo's of the inside of an early 13 cab would be very usefull  I have two styles of seat frame and am not sure which is the correct one to use.This one sits on the floor the second type has C section welded to it and therefore sits higher see other pic. Heres the second type of seat frame Slightly different view Again a different view. Regards RR.

seat frame
The seat frame that sits on the floor is the one used in 4x2 blitz's
the other one is used in 4x4. That's we find down under in our chevs. Max

Detailed Cab images
Hi RR,
I've not come across the raised seat base before, my 42 C30 has the frame that sits directly onto the floor, and is quite high enough for driving. With reference to detailed cab images, i can offer two solutions: 1, I can take some shots of mine and E.Mail them to you OR 2, On Sunday 17th, I shall be taking my C30 to the Oxford Bus museum, at Long Hanborough,for a military vehicle show (weather permitting), where if you can make it, you can take as many images of the cab that you require Using the second option will allow you to photograph exactly what you want Regards Keith

Thanks for the offer of photos unfortunatley I cannot make Oxford on the 17th If you could email me some photos of mirror arm attachment to door hinge, seat frames to floor, rear cab panel to edge of door, edge of cab roof to top of door opening, piping to windscreen wipers various views of dog kennel plus left and right cab steps inc battery box, if you could give me the height from ground to top of tread that would be of great help. Cab Details
Hi RR,
Give me a few days and I'll send you some pictures. The only question I have is that you requested the height from the ground to the top of the tread. I'm not sure if the figure will be of much use to you, as I have a C30 which runs on 10.50x16 and not 9.00x16 tyres. If you still want this measurement, I'll take it. Regards Keith P.S. As Pete so rightly said, it's good to see CMP's being restored to high standards these days, instead of being second rate rebuilds.

Bored......
Keith are you kidding......
... the biggest problem is all the salivating on the keyboard...... particularly at the office...... Your pictures are an inspiration...... So what are the 3 holes that only 2 are showing??? Inside the cab..... upper corner.... is that right angle brace original?? On the battery box..... what are the fasteners holding the cover together..... looks like some rubber tubes have been plugged over the thread portion...?? ..and finally.... (it's all your fault with your pictures) where did you get the nice instrument panel.... is this a "Salesman Bob " issue...?? Bob C.

door screens
Hi Keith
I notice in your pics that you have some nice looking doortop screens I have the frames but need new canvas and perspex can you tell me where you had yours made. Regards RR.

I'm intrigued by a couple (or 3) things:
1) The side window frames have a clip by the canvas section, is this a lock? 2) What is the clip on the cab back panel above the drivers seat? 3) What is the surfacing on the rifle clips? were they rubber coated? I have not seen the canvas bag for the window screens at all. Would you please post a photo or two with basic dimensions? and Bob, The battery box cover looks just like the one described on another thread in MLU: (another job for me to complete.) The L shaped stiffener by the top rear of the cab doorway is present on all the trucks I've seen Sorry I have no idea of the holes in the side of the cab floor frame either! Rob C8AX Ambulance

C 30 Cab Images
Hi Rob, Bob and RR,
Apoligies for the late reply to all of your enquries, I'll try and answer the questions in some logical order. Rod, Yes, this is a clip, my own adaptation, to stop the access flap opening when she is on the move. The only snag is, is that if you leave it locked when you depart from the cab, you can lock your self out ! Clip above the drivers seat, I don't know. It was there when I purchased her, and when I took it off, original paint was found behind it, and on the rear of the clip. So i bolted it back on in the hope to find the answer one day ! No, not rubber coated, they are leather coated complete with very neat stitching, although I'm sure I have another one which is rubber coated, I'll check this out. Look at picture #2 which shows part of the side door storage bag. I'll post a couple of images and dimensions shortly. The bag is original and came from Brian Asbury in Canada. Rob, you are correct with reference to the L shaped stiffner RR The canvas sections (all of which are different profiles), and the flap used on my half doors were supplied by Allied Forces Bristol, who had my original sections, as patterns.If you don't have their number, let me know. The perpex came from the local DIY shop. A word of warning, allow yourself several days to reassemble the sidescreens, as it is very time consuming ! Bob, Thanks for your kind words, during any of my restorations , I always aim for original correctness. Rob is correct with reference to the L shaped stiffner The fasteners for the battery box are a captured 'T' type shouldered bar, which screw onto a couple of threads, just below the underside of the top of the battery box. The rubber tubes you mention, are actually steel shoulders forming part of this fastener. The complete battery box was fabricated from scatch during the rebuild. Check out the other links on MLU on battery boxes. The instument panel was built up over a couple of years, from bits and peices bought at various venues, (I seem to remeber the glass came from Belgium, and the head came from Holland)and then spent two years in our bedroom (for safe keeping, although I was often caught drooling over it by the wife !) So no, salesman Bob did'nt get involved with this one (sorry Bob) I hope I've answered all your questions, if there are any more, please let me know Regards Keith

I have just recovered my window frames using a heavy plastic. I used celluloid years ago, but it didn't last: we have some of the highest UV light levels in the world here in Gisborne NZ! The plastic still ages and yellows in time but doesn't go brittle like celluloid.
I have a little spring metal clip on mine that keeps the window flap shut. I will post an image shortly. I have some rifle clips, but it was difficult to tell what the original coating was. Rob
