Default 1940 truck

I have added the details to my database. However it is a shame that we do not know what the TRIM section of the 1940 Model truck says.."TBA"? "TR"? The trim section has of course the engine # prefix. Note that this truck must have been a Canadian order unit, since it had a 1940 Model Year prefix and yet had a #12 Cab, so was assembled in 1941 but to the existing 1940 Contract. This compares with British orders that acquired 1941 MY prefixes for both #11 and #12 Cabs, because production started immediately after the switchover to 1941 MY production at Oshawa, around 3 September 1940.

Export Keith's spreadsheet to Excel format. If Keith agrees, we can add other CMPs to the sheet and keep it updated.
What do you think?

Great idea, go for it! Would be great if we can use some sort of online database rather than an Excel.

Help me Hanno!
I have not worked or created any online database ... I only know the excel spreadsheets.
Let's think about what we can do and start updating the lists!

Me neither

I may do some searching to find some useful links (e.g. https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p...-database-free)

Default CMP data base

Hi Keith,

Ideally we need someone with database building knowledge to set it up as a database as opposed to a spreadsheet.

Microsoft Access is a good application for something like that. Despite false rumours it is still around and will be for for many more years.

I did a bit with Access over 15 years ago but to be honest I don't have the real skills to set it up and what I learnt I most likely have forgotten anyway.
Perhaps a younger tech savvy person can pick up the gauntlet.

Cheers,

I worked years ago with access. But currently I do not even know how to have online access for each one to upload the information of their vehicle. I am thinking of the most comfortable and easy way to maintain this list with updates of all the vehicles that appeared in recent years and that want to share their information.
