Default Desired - Chev 18 inch Brake Shoes

Howdy all,

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have front brake shoes suitable for the Militarised Civilian Chev truck we had in Australia?

To be precise the Wheels and tyres are 18 inch. The Brake Drum is 14 inch. The shoes are cast shoes. See the "Its infectious" thread in the Soft skin forum.

Or perhaps someone knows where I could get them new?

I need a set. Picture of Truck below

Default Stone the crows

Some of you blokes must be tall, no wonder those aussie sheilas have such long legs.

Colin.
Sorry Colin if I'd seen this earlier I would have replied.

Just out of curiousity, what do they look like? Have you got a photo? Neil Harris has very kindly tracked me down a set out of a GMC. We are 99% confident they are the same as the ones I am trying to track down as they share the same Part Number on the Shoe.

But in the interest of knowledge I would be very keen to see what a Stude Shoe looks like, its part number and if they were interchangeable with a GMC (or a REO).

Default Tony

I believe the Studebaker and GMC use the same axles. Someone will no doubt let us know if I have this wrong.

I don't think they are the same.
A mate of mine tried to fit a set a DUKW 18inch wheels to a Stude and they would not fit over the drums so he fitted them to his GMC CCKW and they fitted fine.
Cheers
Jeff
