Default Bakelite Pocket Watch Holders

I know these turn up from time to time on eBay as good used or NOS items, but was somebody making very good reproductions of them a few years ago, or am I just dreaming?

I have only seen NOS ones kicking around here and there...never reproductions yet. They would be better made of brass or something. The bakelite ones are too susceptible to damage due to cross threading.

The original "Holders, Watch" were nickel plated brass, but after the use of wireless exploded they switched to Bakelite as it was much more suited to volume production. They retained the same stores code, despite the manufacturing differences, and were shipped in boxes of 6.

(The brass ones are probably even worse for cross-threading, not to mention fatigue cracking due to temperature changes during storage.)

Chris.
