WW2 GMC 20" 6-stud wheel details
Morning, folks,
After a fascinating conversation with a collector, I've had a bit of a look at the GMC 20" six-stud wheels. I'm wondering if anyone has details of the stud circle diameter of these wheels, please? I'm wondering if a set could be used for a straight swap onto my Inter K5, to get over the 18" tyre problem. If they could be used to get the truck mobile, I could then start chasing a set of Gama Goat tyres, or save up for the DUKW repros from the States. The gentleman in question showed me Jack Neville's article about his M-H resto, which mentioned a now-deceased bloke in the US who had 8000 Gama Goat tyres. 8000! Cheers, Matt

I can check mine for you but 1.5t, CcKW and M series 2-1/2t trucks all share the same bolt pattern. DUKW runs fit too but had spacers to clear brake drums with 18" wheels.
Will get back to you

The pitch diameter of the CCKW wheel stud pattern is 8-3/4"
This is the same as Chev G506 1-1/2 ton (Yankee Joe), DUKW, White Scout Car and M series trucks with 6 stud wheels. I would be surprised if IH used the same pattern. They tended to do their own thing to a large extent though I'm fairly sure the M-2-4 used the same 16" wheels as the Dodge 3/4 ton WC so you may be lucky. David

What width 18 inch tyres do you require.
I have been looking into this problem for a Wiles cooker. A Korean tyre company can supply 7.50 x 18 tyres new in Australia with a road type pattern. If you are interested give me a PM Ron. |
