Default L-134 Crankshaft

Bad news on my motor which is in for a re-build. Seems that the front pully had come loose and completely destroyed the front of the crank. At least I know what the noise was now . I'm on the hunt for a crankshaft that is either, a) NOS, or b) good enough to be used after a modest re-grind. A quick question, will a crankshaft from a civilian model work as long as it's gear drive?

Well that was quick, I found a reconditioned crank near me with bolt on weights, gear driven and ground .010 on the mains and throws. We're all the gear drive cranks the same whether they had cast or bolt on weights? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I can't speak to the weights, but the M38 and M38A1 manuals show an early and late crank, both are interchangeable, and both are used on both the L head and the F head engine.

Thanks for the info Rob! Turns out my old crank has bolt on weights also so we're in business
