Default War & Peace show

The organizers are still planning to go ahead with the W&P show. I don't know how they are going to manage things. Is anyone planning to attend? Are people going to be able to come from mainland Europe?

I have attended this event every year since the first ones at Tenterden in the 80's when they were the IMPS club's annual show. After last year's event I vowed not to go again (a decision made before Covid-19) as I feel that it has lost a lot of appeal. A great number of regulars no longer take part, MV related stalls are fewer each year, entry fee of £75 for a vehicle. I cannot see how anyone coming from overseas is going to self-isolate for 14 days as soon as they arrive in the UK.
Sorry, don't mean to be negative, but the best years have long one.

I agree the show is past it's best buy date. With the new organizer it seems to be about the money. People put a lot of time and expense in the Living History areas so he can make money from visitors. He then wants to charge them as well. Maybe next year the small local shows will be better supported.

maybe another idea to do things for a week ,is to organize a tour with the vehicles .Like it was done in the 80ies , tour through the Ardennes , Arnhem area , France , also Dorset area, embarkation points of interest , etc .
If there is enough interest , it should be manageable.

I hear on other forums people trying to get their money back who have pre booked having a hard time doing so.

well it's official. W&P is cancelled this year. I'm not sure what will happen next year. They have lost a lot of vendors and participants.

Default war & peace update

I see that refunds are now being sent out. I had bought earlybird tickets and received a full refund today.
