Default Fording Kit Questions?

I am inquiring about a fording kit (snorkel) for my 67' M38A1 CDN2 as I have all the fording valves in place. However, I was told that my M151 Mutt style air cleaner side outlet is of a different diameter than the earlier style 1953 M38A1 air cleaners and that the 1953 fording kits rubber snorkel hose will not fit onto the 67' M151 style air cleaner.....is this correct?

In my opinion, only the tops are/look different.....the lower round oil bathed filter housing appears the same as does the side cover that is taken off and put on top of the rubber snorkel hose once everything is attached. Please comment.

Regards,

lesk
