Unhappy Range targets

Just saw a video clip on face book from the Talisman Sabre exercise here in Australia. At Delemere air weapons range they were unloading some M577s and a leopard tank for range targets. My heart sank. Sign of the times I guess.

Likely better than their fate would have been here in Canada. We are not using hard targets anymore, so the armour that does not make it to monument status all end up under the cutting torch.

don't be too disheartened the range isn't the worst fate to befall a tank, who knows in 30 years time some band of lunatics might start pulling them off to restore them
