Default Carriers at W&P 2014

Several of us have talked about getting a group of carriers together for W&P 2014. There have been a few there in the past but it'd be great to get a larger selection in one place, especially with peoples planned European trips. Last year was the straw that broke the camels back for me, fed up of being the bridesmaid and not having my own carrier there so I'm pushing hard to have the Scout ready (before W&P) to take along.

Shall we start a list of those who are planning to take a carrier along? Nothing set in stone but it might help encourage people like myself to get their a*se into gear and finish getting it ready.......

It could be the most carriers of different versions together for quite a while.

Here goes. Please add your name to the list.

I am taking my mk1* in Sicily campaign colours complete with desert stowage

Hopefully.... The carrier is looking good to be complete but freight costs will be the clincher

Default Carriers at W & P 2014

Hi Gentleman,

Since I run the Arena at W & P and have a great deal of input into the programme ( I just wish people would relaise that anyone can bring a vehicle in for relevant "themes" ) I had been talking about this very thing with Shaun, Richie and Rick at the Buckenham show.

Also I have told Rex that we will be having an Arena event on probably Sat & Sun at next years show - after all they are the most numerous armoured vehicle produced - and he was very enthusiastic about it !

I think that it would be wonderfule to get as many carriers as possible , to include Universal, Bren, T16, Lloyd Windsor etc. as I dont think its been done anywhere before.

Andy

If I can tie the transportation of mine in with others on the way down at a decent rate, my Mk1 desert cammo carrier will venture down again next year.

Am working on the haulage from Scotland, picking up others on the way down and doing return trip. Have 4 interested owners at the moment.

Thank you to all who have replied so far.

Andy, I remember the chat we had at Shaun's show, you're right, enough carriers will make a great display especially if we can have a bit of variety!

So far then.....

Scout
MK 1's
MK 2's

Are there any owners of T16's, Loyd's able to attend? Are there any windsors in the UK that might be able to make it?

Nigel, the shared transport sounds just the job, hopefully it'll be economically viable. I recon I'm furthest south, last on first off..........

Default Windsor

Preston Isaacs or his son of Cobbaton fame has a running Windsor which he used to regularly bring to W&P.

Also there maybe a couple of carriers coming over from abroad next year.

Morning lads,

I hope to have mine there again next year, as I did not bump into any of you this time. I was only there for a day due to engine troubles and was stuck over by the Helicopter.

Hi again, I love the idea that we could 11 or more at W&P 201, I have started a thread on HMVF to spread the word and written to Santa to ask him if I can have a carrier as well.

Having driven it to the old W and P site which was about 20 miles I don't fel the need to do it again. We will see! If I start training now I may build my strength for it by next summer.

I must say I am a little less keen on using it on the road, as I managed to pull a track off it in the field at home. Not sure why, obviously it must have been too loose but I was fairly much of the view that it was tight enough. I have now taken a link out and so it should be ok. Seems the tracks never stop stretching! Anyway, W and P will be fun, just need to find a small truck to take it on. Not sure how much she weighs all in all. Perhaps 4 ton? Any ideas
