Default CD 12 Radio Set Marconi

I just picked up a really nice CD 12 Radio set, can anyone tell me what they were used in? All I know about them is that they send and receive.

Thank you
Dean

CD12 is the army version of the navy FR12.

See Jerry Proc's webpage here.
