Default Carrier Suspension

I just noticed that the Opel Blitz Maultier(halftrack version of the Blitz) used the almost identicle rear suspension as the brengun Carriers. Aparrwntly the Germans copied it almost to a "T"

The suspension system is clearly patterned on Universal Carrier (or: its predecessor) parts, but if you compare with the picture below, one can see there are substantial production differences. Wheels are wider and the track was adopted from another German tank, PzKpfw 1 I think.

gee it is very close indeed isnt it.....but being German no doubt better made

Maybe better than the pommy suspension but not the aussie suspension.

..I've often thought of digging up a local 3 ton ford and making one of these...
