Default Length of Antenna

Somewhere I saw a picture of an 800 in Normandy outfitted as a radio truck. What I do not recall about it was the length of the antenna that was affixed to the top of the antenna mast. Does anyone have any information on this?

Regards,
Jim

PS Not the picture, the length of the antenna! Although......the picture would be nice to see again!

Would depend on what type of set is in the truck. For a 19 set, the 4 feet 'F' rods ..you could have them either 4 8 or 12 feet long ..the sections joined together like a fishing rod. .... they tapered like a fishing rod .

Default 19 set

Jim

You wont have any problem finding a 19 radio set . They were manufactured in large numbers the USA ... strange as the US army didnt use them..it was a Lend Lease arrangement apparently... Many were shipped to Russia ..the Germans captured and used them too.

Epay has them and parts regularly..but the prices are exorbitant in my opinion... there is a excellent 19 set web page here
http://www.qsl.net/ve3bdb/ where they give recomended prices for sets .
