Default The Elusive Page 13

Hi all - after searching around for several years for this page, all of a sudden they are coming out of the woodwork everywhere. I have just received a bundle from an anonymous benefactor however they are in a scan format and a bit darker that a normal photocopy.

So here is the deal. For $AUD5 I will post you out a page. What I don't spend on postage will go into a tin and then donated to MLU funds. Pay any way you want but $5 in an envelope along with your return postage details would be fine. Don't think about it, just do it so it doesn't drag on. PM me for my postal address.

Bob

Default The Whole Deal (less page 13)

Came to me for free, from a friend, and no doubt David received it the same way. Good luck with the fund raising Bob, and be careful you dont get squashed by all those page 13's

Well, if the deal is beneficial to MLU, I would like thank Bob and the guy who donated the pages on behalf of all MLU'ers for doing their bit to Support Maple Leaf Up

Some donate outright, either in time or money. Others like Bob and Chris Vickery (of MLU T-shirts fame) contribute by offering worthwile deals to other members. After all, the best things in life are not free and it takes money and time to keep this forum up and running

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Default Other Pages

Robert - thanks heaps. What is image 243 and what is supposed to be after image 331. Then we go to page 8, what comes after image 565-4. Then page 9, what comes before image 581/1. I was quite happy getting page 13, now you have opened up a whole can of new worms.

Bob

Default List of Spare Parts

Bob - The parts are listed in numerical order vertically, not horizontally in the "List of Spare Parts". If you cross reference the part numbers to the numerical index in the "Carrier MG Spare Parts Catalogue", section R, page 188 -200, some of your questions wil be answered. Will PM you for a copy of page 13.

Cheers
Peter

Default Euan & Lynn

As a consequence of holding out on me and not informing me you had this elusive page, I am imposing a fine of $5 on each of you that will go direct into the MLU fund. If you don't pay up I know where you live.

Hanno..
As usual I sent in my contribution to Shawn W-B..in cash..as usual and low and behold he sent back confirmation in a nice letter with a real stamp on it and I invited him to join us in Ottawa at Gracies..for a gather up when he is in Ottawa..
I used to contribute directly to Jif every year when we would meet and I am sure that it went directly in to the "Business expense'' column of the ledger under "entertainment"..which was fine by me..man needs a little fuel to pick and peck over a hot keyboard..
I miss the lad..
we always had fun at our meetings..
I hope to carry on the tradition with his son..but Real letters..??
I did a MLU site search and could find no message address for him or his email address so if it is available to me .send a PM..
Thanks and keep the funds flowing..

Bob, forgive me, but would that be page 13 of AFTAG Publication 2 you are talking about (the odd-format book with all the dimensioned carrier part drawings)?

Default Carrier Spare Parts List

Hi Mike - attached is the cover sheet. I picked up a photocopy of this several years ago but have never seen an original. On the bottom of the inside pages is M.G.S.P. 2 3/43 and page 13 was missing hence the search. I would love an original of this manual but nobody seems to have one or know where the photocopy came from.

Yes, that's the one: AFTAG Service Publication No.2. The 'MGSP' stands for Machine Gun Spare Parts and the date the publication was 'sealed' - March 1943. They were printed by Morris and Walker in Melbourne.

Never really thought about how rare it might be, though I knew I hadn't ever seen any others.

Default The Scarlet Pimpernel Publication

Hi all - somebody out there must have an original for us to have obtained photocopies. Let us hunt one down.

Default Donation

Hi Hanno - some money en. route from Robert and myself. Obviously nobody else wants Page 13 or they are too miserable to buy one.
