V8 acquired
Its been some time since my last contribution to this thread. Still collecting spares for this project to be at hand when the time comes. Recently acquired a new heart for her. It comes from a generator unit stationed at the back of an american GMC truck. There are some parts that will need to be stripped of and replaced, like the carburator, clutch, single pulleys? etc. The oil pan also has some additions. Otherwise it seems to be a good engine with little milage, it turns freely and it is dry. There seems to be the original factory paint lurking underneath the grey.
Can anybody please identify the type and year of production? Is it US made? There is F59A casted on the heads and FAPS FORD GEFA 6045 and few numbers on the block as seen on the last picture very below.

Nice one Dusan!
I would say French made block, 100HP, 239 cui, postwar heads, old (war) helmet distributor, partial flow oil filtering. Sturdy engine, similar to mine.

You must be right Petr, just found that SAF stands for Ford Société Anonyme Française. SAF is casted on the block and heads.

Ford gearbox
Got a spare Ford gearbox with this funny looking rear mount. It has the speedo drive and emergency brake bracket on it. Also it has bulky trans shift tower case. Anybody can identify this? Otherwise it is quite pristine inside so want to use it with the correct rear mount. Just hoping the selectors will be right.

Mount
Looks like the standard truck one as also seen on the CMP F15.
(although another look it seems longer than the ones I've seen).

It looks like a post war one with the sprung loaded reverse.
Still the same though.

gearbox
Thanks guys for your inputs. All seems to be the same as my other gearbox, just the lid has the extension for the selectors which are a bit different which could be the point Lynn mentioned. Sprung loaded reverse sounds good to me. I am gonna use this gearbox with the "butterfly" rear mount which I belive should be the right one for my FGT.
I am not yet much familiar with these differencies. So the mount pictured is from F15??

I think Keith has raised some doubt.
The rear mount would suit an application that does not include a two speed transfer case, because the hand brake would in that situation, be mounted at the back of the transfer case. (the hand brake band support is integral with the mount) I have little knowledge on these trucks.
