Exclamation Austin K2A GS Truck for sale

This month ten years ago MLU member Henk Minne took delivery of his Austin K2. Sadly, Henk passed away last May. He had been a member of MLU since 2010 and was very active as a "lurker", partially because his command of the English language in writing was limited. Henk contributed to the upkeep of MLU on a regular basis.

Now the time has come to put Henk's beloved Austion K2 up for sale. I am posting this heads-up on behalf of his daughter.

More details will follow soon, so if you are interested - watch this space.

Regards,
Hanno

Can anyone supply more information on the use of the Austin K2A GS truck in Commonwealth service? As far as Henk can tell this type of truck was used only by the RAF and/or RN.

I remember riding around the island of Jersey in this very truck in the 1980's. The owner was showing a group of us around the war sites. After the hair raising journey around the narrow lanes he informed that the brakes were shot !!!!

Austins are lovely trucks and it would be nice to see it back in England 😉

Here are the details as provided by Henk's daughter Angelique:
  • The Austin is dry stored, and can remain there until further notice.
  • Currently the rear brakes are not working, but all (new) components for the repair are included in the sale.
  • No current Dutch registration, but all paperwork is present to register it.
  • Henk wanted to get €6000.- for the truck, so this is Angelique's asking price.
  • For genuinely interested parties, please contact Angelique Minne by email (click on her name).
I have been told this is one of only 28 remaining world-wide. Here's hoping this threads helps to find a new good home for this truck.

Pieter, as long as you don't register it for the road in the Netherlands, it can keep the registration of the country it was imported from.
