Default Bren gun mount

I need some help to identify a bracket off my Chev 6 Seater.
The Field Specs of 1944 note;
Mountings, Bren gun (roof) 4 (M)
I have the side mountings for the Bren which are the same as used in the Bren Gun Carrier.
This mounting is unlike any other I have seen and has me stumped (ie."no idea" in Canadian)
There are 4 mountings facing each compass point.
Regards,
Wayne Henderson.

Default Bren socket

Wayne, if you ask Bill at Nungarin very nicely, he may have the cast brass pivoting pintle socket which slots straight into your bracket pictured.

We racked our brains for years to try to work out what it fitted but looking at your pic my money is on that

Cheers

Phill

Lance is that my mount and my cat?

Great suggestion Phillip. It makes logical sense, but what a lot of work to achieve it.

Default A mystery solved

It made sense to have four fabricated slot in mounts and one brass pivoting socket for the bren.

I hope all the matching parts end up together for posterity and good to see a mystery solved after 7 years of wondering what the hinged pintle socket would fit

Cheers

Phill
