Default News from one of Canada's newest soldiers

Thought that I would share an e-mail from my son. He is a Reg Force 2Lt taking his Phase 3 Infantry Officer's course at CFB Gagetown;

Mod 1 finished. We got to fire a claymore, a bunch of m203 chalk rounds (I knocked a target over with a direct hit from 150m), C6 GPMG in light and heavy role (we set the range ablaze with tracer fire), 2 rounds of HEAT with the ...Carl G (HEAT rounds are crazy hard to get, our staff have never fired any in Canada before, my first shot hit the target...a poor old Sherman).
Monday we begin Mod 4 which is defensive for 2 weeks. 2 days of class, 3 days of battle school then a week of assessments.

Sorry about the Sherman.

Clive (a proud dad)
