Default Blitz bowser

Folks,

RAAF refuelling Dutch C47, around 1945 (pic from 40 jaar luchtvaart in Indie).
Is the vehicle to the right a Truck, 3 ton, 6x6, Aircraft Refueller (Aust.) (GM C60X)?
Enjoy,
Nuyt

Nice photo. Yes the truck on the right is a C60X RAAF refueler. The other of course is an American Army Airforce GMC-CCKW 6X6 refueler.

I took this pic of a surviving C60X refueller at Pine Creek in the Northern Territory in 1996 or 97. I couldn't get a closer pic because of a couple of ginormus dogs guarding it.
Cheers

Default C60X

That's a nice intact one!
The lifting slings on these 1944 models are on front and rearmost axles. There were only about a hundred of these built.

Here's one in Melbourne in 1974

Can you imagine all the stuff you could hide from Customs in side the tank when crossing the USA/CDN border after returning from a trip down to see Phil Waterman at the truck shows.......?????
