Default And the answer to the Centurion question is.....?

OK, I'm stumped. I have a Centurion part number for an open-topped bin that is installed on the turret sill just to the rear of the pistol port, and cannot find the part name on any of my Centurion Parts lists.

It's FV462220. It's an open-topped bin (ie no hinged lid), combined with a smaller bin underneath with a hinged, flap front. The question is, what is it defined as in the parts catalogue (which should tell me what it was designed to hold, rather than what crews decided to dump in it!).

Tank is a Mk5/1 fitted with IR and RG.

Any takers?

Hello Mike,

it's been 12 or 13 years since I sold my Cent to Matt but I recall it was for the loader's periscope and spare prism ?

I could be wrong as it has been a while sinci I wasted entire days tinkering inside my cent.

Cheers

Phill

Yes, Paul, that's the one.

I see yours is labelled for .30 cal Browning ammunition - it would probably take two steel liners (ie 500 rounds).

Thanks for that.

Have you been able to find the part number listed in the parts list, by any chance?

Mike C
