Hope you got near enough for the order to go ahead to day Keith.

What can I say Ian, except that's great commitment on your behalf.

Put me down for one more Keith - 6 in total please.

Default I've placed the order!

Thanks everyone for their pre-orders. I'm still about 20 short but hopefully they will come in over the next few weeks.

So the process from here is the mould is going to be made, and some samples sent to me for checking. This takes about 10 weeks.

Once I've told them I'm happy with them I'll be making the second payment and the final one when the bulk lot is delivered to me for distribution to you good people.

So if you know of anyone who might like to order one or more please encourage them to do so.

I'll let you all know both here and on the Facebook groups when we go to the next stage which is when I'll start sending the invoices, but I'll contact everyone first to make sure you still want them and also to get your mailing address.

G'day Keith,

Bump my order total up to 8. As Tony has already stated, it is very unlikely that these will ever be made again so better get them while their available.

Thanks

Default Boots

I'm still waiting to receive my samples to approve and I think they will arrive this week.
I've had to commit to having them made, I am close to getting enough orders to just get over the line but at the moment I am having to partially fund the exercise, so if there are any others who would like one but haven't ordered yet please let me know.

Default My sample has arrived and it's perfect!

I'm very happy with the sample I received this afternoon. Comparing it with a new old stock one everything aligns perfectly and as you can see it fits correctly. I expect to have my production run delivered around the end of January so please if you have indicated you want one or more please pm me your postal address and email so I can send you an invoice. I'm still looking into postage but it looks like it will be around $10 in Australia. I'm still getting costs for North America and Europe.
For anyone who hasn't ordered one or more please let me know now so I can include you in this production run.
The picture with the pair shows an original one on the left.

Default They are now ready!

This looks like a box in the Ford factory in 1943 but it's 2019 and the new boots are ready to send.

If you have not already done so, please send me your email address as well as your postal address.

Prices are in Australian dollars, so a lot less than some currencies as ours is currently about 71 US cents.

Boots are $65 each plus packing and postage, in Australia this is $8.50 as they fit into a standard 500g postpack, I haven't counted how many I can fit into one yet. I'll update other prices as soon as I can buy some post bags and take them to the post office on Monday to check the various countries, but expect something along the lines of $A30 for most overseas destinations.

And if anyone would like to also order a set of original, new old stock data plates at the same time I have the special price of $35 for a set of four as illustrated. The publications plate is available for F15, F15A, F60S, F60L and FGT.
Please send me a new PM or email if you would like the data plates as well. I'll be able to accept direct deposit or PayPal. If you'd like a PayPal invoice just let me know.

On a serious note, these have just arrived in time for Corowa.

Instead of postage, some people might prefer to collect their order at Corowa, where I'm sure that additional units will be available for sale?

Default Thanks Tony

Yes I can confirm I will be bring extras to Corowa and also enough for those who would like to collect there.

I also thought i'd remind there are some other NOS items which can be included in your orders to save on postage... I've made this graphic to show the range.

Default Gearshift boot received

Hi Keith,

The boot arrived today. Many thanks for your efforts to get them reproduced.
It is a fantastic reproduction. If I didn't know better I would say you found the original WW2 dies. It is a credit to the diemaker.

Here's a close up photo so others can see what I am talking about.

I think the white powder is just the mould release agent, talcum? and wipes off easily.

Cheers,

Jacques

I also just got mine and it’s great.
Frank who made these appreciates your comment Jacques, and is happy hat you like them.
He is also very good at making rubber parts, trim and exhausts for Hillman Imps if any one is interested.

Default Orders so far

Hi all, thanks to those who have responded having received their orders... there are however a few who have ordered or indicated they would like to buy who have not paid yet or let me know they'd like one.

Please pm me to let me know - I've sent a series of reminders to those who have PayPal invoices outstanding, also to some on the facebook groups.

Thanks again for your support, once the outstanding orders have been filled I can breathe a little easier financially speaking!

Hi Phil

I have plenty left, thanks for ordering, cost will be $65 each plus $8.50 for postage, just send me your email address and I'll do a Paypal invoice for you.

I can't remember if I've supplied data plates to you before but I still have a FGT publications plate to spare if you need one.

Regards, Keith

Default Here's another two rubber parts to consider

Hi Keith,

Now that the rubber gearshift boots are again produced here's another two rubber parts that might be worth considering putting into production.

Part No. 70 18078: Retainer- shock absorber grease- rubber
Part No. 81T 3332A: Retainer- Drag link grease- rubber

I don't know if these are generic to other Ford vehicles but have never seen them on the usual Ford repro parts websites.

I have a couple NOS drag link seals to supply as a sample but the NOS shock absorber seal is the only one I have and I took it off the truck for the photo.
I have however made accurate measurements of it before putting it back on the truck.

It would be a lot easier to produce the dies for them than the gearshift boot and as 6 are required for the shock absorbers and 2 for the drag link a large volume would probably be required to be produced.

If they are available already someone probably can inform me but I've had no luck finding them.

Food for though anyway as hundreds would be required worldwide for our CMP truck enthusiasts.

Cheers,

They would differ between models though wouldn't they e.g F15 to F30 to F60L.? More so the drag link rubber than the shock absorber one.

Default Rubber parts- commonality

Hi Beau,

Just looked at the earlier "Ford Illustrated Army Parts Catalogue 1940-1941".
It lists the same part numbers for all models. See attached. My dedicated 1943 F15-A Ford Parts Manual list the same numbers.

That 1940-1941 Parts manual is available on a CD on EBay for $30. Very handy reference even for the later models. I got it just a few weeks ago.

Cheers,
