Talk the hind leg off a donkey, me. You'll have to go some.

Now, you started it and tell me this, Winnipeg is on a latitude 49.88N and the real London, as opposed to a colonial variant, is 51.5N.

So London ENGLAND is some 111 miles north of Winnipeg and it almost never snows here or even drops below freezing.

Why's that then?

Oh, bugger. Baccy tin's empty and still half a mug of tea left. I'm off for a refill.

If smoking is supposed to be so bad for you, how come so many of us old farts are still not only alive, but active under our own steam?

First thing in the morning - smoke ciggie while kettle boils, 2nd smoke with tea. Throughout day, when there is something to be done - have a smoke first, every cuppa is accompanied by a smoke break.....:

Hey, look.

Dave writing my mails for me before I've even thought of them.

Come on Ball-Spinny, there's a spare gap lower right in the smiley box, I want a smoking smiley.

Double away and get it done.

Considering you bloody empireists once owned the known world, I'm surprised you haven't figured it out. You're surrounded by bloody water, which keeps you warm, albeit wet. Winnipeg - aka Winterpeg - is in the middle of the bloody continent. It gets damned cold from the prevailing winds coming directly out of the arctic.

Very strange people, those Manitobans, to put up with that bit.

I shall Have to think of another obtuse question now to keep the Venerable_Dame of Manitoba in good grey cell order; this could be at least a ciggy job.

At least we _did_ own the discovered world once and made a fair job of running it too.

Of course there was a bit of a cock-up when our finest legal brains hand-picked the population of a huge and warm sub-continent in the Pacific; and also the Americans had a field-day with the British Army camo gear of the day as it was a red tunic with two large and white crossed belts making a handy aiming mark. Hardly playing the game with them dressed in No2 brown leather and coon skin hats hiding behind the trees.

Incidentally you can see this at Overlord as we have a whole contingent of The Fort Cumberland Guard, muskets and all, doing some arena stuff.

Ah, now I know about them, cherry-red with the gas-axe, then hit the buggers with the 3/4" drive windy gun on 150psi of air.

Never fails, only a one and half a mug of tea job.
