George you're letting your executors off easy. The best line I heard was Funeral at 11, Auction at 2.

(But yes, there is a time for everything and the smart ones know when to wipe off their tools and move their treasures along.)

Default What to keep?

Hi George,

I am sorry to hear of your accident. I do hope that you are on the improve and have many years ahead of you. Please keep a few items of interest that you can work on now and again to keep you sane and mobile.

I had a very bad accident at work way back in September 1993 and was never supposed to walk again. It was my interest in vehicles and other items that kept me sane and gave me encouragement to keep going. So far I have spent 739 days in total in hospitals or rehabilitation centres since the 9th. September 1993, the day I was hurt, and it was the wish to continue to enjoy my hobby that kept and keeps me going. I am writing this from my hospital bed at the moment having just undergone my 12 major back operation and there have been many other not so major ops.

The internet has also been a great boon to me and I have made friends all over the world as a result. My laptop is getting a work out whilst I am here this time.

Good luck with the Auction, and as I said before, I hope you keep a few items to keep you sane and mobile as they have me.

Cheers Rick.

In the last few listings at the bottom are some barracks boxes with stuff, a box of No.19 set spares, a mast, some helmet liners, and in the collectables what look like shell casing lamps.

Default CMPs auction Grand Prairie site 15cwt Ford 12/13

I just can't seem to link them up; Looks like two complete CWT 15's... a 12 and a 13 type [Ford]. It is an equipment auction site. Dave

I picked up the cab 11 F15a. I saw you bid a few times and figured you would end up with the half-track. Pretty nice unit.

Did anyone copy the prices of the various lots? I know that the auction company will likely post them in a month or so, but I am impatient...

Edited to add: I see prices are now posted: https://teamauctions.com/completed-auctions/items-286

I ended up with dodgy internet on the family vacation in the Rockies.
So no buying for me.

So which hobby do you want to be in? For your $25,000 hobby budget you can have 1 gas pump ($25,000) or 13 military vehicles and trailers (including 2 Bren Carriers, a Halftrack and M38 jeep) for a total of $20,625. $4375 left over for beer.
Still lots of opportunities out there. Thank you to George for saving all of these pieces.

Yes Kudos George to keep sake these gems for for the future.
Lots of guys gripe about those who gather and cache vehicles but sooner or later hopefully the collector community steps up to carry on.
Thank you

I printed the auction results and attached them as a pdf for future reference: George McKenzie auction 2019.pdf

I have made an album with photos anyone can view here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/hWzWa6fEqh58M3vTA

If you want to save large format pictures, please do so yourself.
