Default C60X bell housing

not having owned a complete C60X I don't know but this is a right hand drive bellhousing and its not for other Chev CMP's because of the angled mounts.https://www.ebay.com/itm/62-Chevy-23...AAAOSw4f5YClr8

Default C60X bell housing

The spare parts list says it should be 2136589.

The ebay listing photos show part number 3817816 cast into the housing, GM parts wiki suggests application to at least 1960-1962 6 cylinder trucks, maybe 1955-1964. The casting looks to be late enough that the bosses for the foot operated starter were no longer present.
As stated the C60X parts book lists the clutch housing as 2136589. Also, I'm quite sure the rear mounts on my C60X are horizontal cushions using a bracket to mount to a vertical face on the clutch housing. Sorry, I don't have a useful photo of that area available. The appearance of the C60X housing is generally similar by memory to other CMP (most CMP use housing part no. 604364) but must be different to justify a different part number - but I have no idea what the exact difference is.
I have seen similar mounting pads on later 235 engines, but set up for left hand drive. I've no idea why a RHD bellhousing of that period would be in the USA.

Default Right hand

Where there any rear engine applications for a chev 6? My idea is with the motor reversed the fork is then needed on the oposite side.

Harry, perhaps a rear engine forklift.

The Staghound ran a pair of Chevrolet 6’s in the back. Were there any specific ‘left’ and ‘right’ requirements for that installation?
