Hi Hanno:
Ouch..........quite a price, on the other hand a very unusual album with dozens of very nice photos. If I were a serious collector of Australian stuff or even beute stuff and had the money I probably would have paid that for a unique selection of photos. Loved the Ford Lorry. Bill

There are some CMPs in the background, too.
I'm sure salesman Bob will tell us there are plenty of CMP trucks for sale down under for US $1,857.57. H.

profiteering
I personally think it's a immoral act , profiteering from those snapshots . The original soldier who took those pics is most likely passed on or in his 80's. Wonder what he would think of it all .... How many of these albums ended up on the local rubbish tip , thrown away by uncaring relatives . If there's a buck in it , that's different cos we live in the world of opportunity don't we .....
Its a bit like taking the soul from the AIF soldier who took the pics . Mike

Several years ago, there was a photo album, some medals and a few other bits and pieces for sale at a pawn shop. They were from a woman from the WAAF. I belive the lot was for sale for about $800 Cdn.
That photo album from the Australian soldier looks to be lacking captions. That makes it less valuable in my view without information on dates and locations. Jim |
