MkII* Carb
After a pretty embarrassing weekend of fits, no power, and jumpy starts, I have to face the fact that it's time for a new carb on Bucky The Wonder Carrier.
I'm looking for a ford or holley "94" that will fit. I had one last year , but the owner (rightly so) offerred physical violence untill he got it back for loftier purposes. I'm in southern Ontario. Anyone have any leads, info on prices, etc?

Mac's auto parts (www.macsautoparts.com) seem to list type 94 carbs at $220, does this help?

Mac's-
Yep - I knew about them, but with exchange and shipping , you're up to near 400$
That's more than I paid for the carrier.

Solex?
Charlie,
I have a NOS Solex Carrier carb, that I got new from Dirk L. the last time that I was at Beltring ( 2003?). I could never figure out how to bolt it on, let alone how it worked. You can gave it to fool around with, if you want. I will be at home all next weekend if you want to slip over ( with struddle ) and claim it. It was a bad day for carbs all around - I hear the Fox and Carrier at the Spring Muster in London had problems too. Stewart |

You could try Dennis Carpenter Ford Parts in North Carolina. They have rebuilt and new manufacture 2 barrel carbs.

[QUOTE=Stewart Loy;114077] It was a bad day for carbs all around - I hear the Fox and Carrier at the Spring Muster in London had problems too.
It didn't quit. It just got shy and stopped running in front of the museum curator (and event organizer) and a MWO from the First Hussars. Once back home it popped back to life and wanted to be driven around the block....something my wife forbids. The culprit seems to be the set screw on the distributor coming loose as everything else checks out OK. Rain gave it a good wash and MUST have been the cause of the Carrier problem. |

My UC was also giving me many problems this past weekend. From having a very badly timed coil, to dirty spark plugs and sticking valves. We got those all cleaned up and good to go. Even put new points and re-timed the distributor. Then it ran unitl demonstration time. Then it quit. Lots of battery power but no spark. I figured it would have been from the rain getting into the electrics. That was until Mr Fitton took one quick look and noticed my wire from +terminal on coil to condensor had been broken clean off. How this happened is beyond my scope but I was able to quickly fix it and get it running again.
