Default Pssst... want to build a gun tractor?

I now have some of the army drawings dated 1944 for building No. 9 Aust gun tractors online.
This is by no means a complete set, but it does show how to make some of the bits usually missing.
So far I've only scanned the A4 size pics; larger ones should follow soon.
I can send larger scans on request.

Have a look.

AHHHHHHH! original drawings. What a scoop.

Keith I would be interested in purchasing a set of full size copies of the plans if possible. They will be an invaluable aid when I do a 1/35 scale Ford Gun tractor later.

Thanks
Cliff

Default Drawings

Hi Cliff

Exciting, isn't it. Be great to see a model of a number 9 FGT.
I'll do the 1:1 version.

Unfortunately there are relatively few drawings there, although there are side elevations of the tractor they have faded almost to invisibility.

I'll see what needs to be done as far as copying and we'll make a few sets.

Default Drawings

...ah yes please. I recognise most of the parts except the map holders? and still have no idea about the clamp aft of the spare wheel. A very rare find that you need to share with your friends Keith mate.

Yes, could you get me some drawings for the Indian Pattern FAT as well, please?

Seriously, good on ya, mate! When can we expect the release of The Year of the Gun Tractor?!?

H.

The clamp aft of the spare wheel is for the holdfasts used when winching.
There are drawings for it too, but they're the larger ones.

Yes, I assume these are the scotches. Haven't tried fitting a set to Euan's yet - must give it a go.

Default And some more pics

Unfortunately some of the plans have faded to almost nothing. This one was hardly discernable but with enhancement it is at least a sort of grubby outline.

I've posted more here.

Default Plans

Have you tried viewing these faded plans under any other type of light source - U/V lamp or infra-red? You never know it may or may not give you a bit more detail?

Good idea, Larry
My neighbour is an architect and has a UV light.
I'll give it a go.
