Original or "in preservation", David?

David:

I have tons of such pics, but........the majority are ex-Mike Conniford or Bart Vanderveen, most have never been published that I have seen.
The problem that you may encounter is the majority are posed, factory shots by the various manufacturers.

I know of your concern for copyright difficulties so perhaps cannot contribute much but if you are interested, let me know here and I will scan and post some examples.
Cheers
Bill

Default Getting desperate!

I have had a quote from one company of £20 per photo for pre-war WD trucks. This is going to be out-of-budget so if anyone can assist I can offer acknowledgments and mags in return!

David H:

In no special order:
I will try to scan some of the posed photos I mentioned earlier.
Do you have any specific time deadlines for photos?
My days off are Sunday and Monday.
My wife just returned from her parents home in Arizona after being away for a month and is leaving in two weeks for another month in Arizona.
My priorities are, to say the least, stressed.
Please try to give me any specific vehicles you need ASAP and I will try to cull through the stuff and scan and post one way or the other what I can.
Bill

Default Thanks Bill

Bill, I appreciate whatever you can do, whenever please. The timescale is 'asap' but I am imposing and so I will sit back and await anything you can send please. I have a feeling that a maximum of ten would be sufficient thanks if that helps.

If you have anything please om Guy, AEC, Morris-Commercial, Leyland, Thorneycroft, Scammell 1935-1940 military trucks these would be ideal.

Default Albion

David,

Here is the first one, an ex-RAF Albion AM463 of late Thirties. I cannot remember details as this was some years ago and it dissapeared from our locality. Photo taken on Brands Hatch circuit at a vintage rally in August 1982.

Default Crossley

David,

A rare one here, a Crossley-Kegresse halftrack truck from Tony Oliver's collection. Photo taken at the MVT D-Day show, Southsea 1987, in the good old days.

I do have a rear view if needed.

Default Crossley

David,

Cannot be sure of year, but it was built from late thirties on, a Crossley IGL8 3 ton 6x4. I first came across this one, derelict in a scrapyard in late seventies, it is seen here on the HVCS London to Brighton Run in 1984. With more knowledge now, I believe this was actually a Breakdown Gantry, as the body sides show, and it had a winch, the upper structure having been cut off.

Default Great!

Richard have you TIF versions please? I have 1MBS Broadband so can receive BIG files! I just bought the '80 Years of Citroen in the UK' book and it has a nice section on the Kegresse conversions. The histior dates back to 1921, when Slough Depot was being sold off by the Government. The Four Wheel Drive Aut Company Limited had a buildign in the Depot at the time, selling refurb'd FWD ex-WD trucks.

David,

TIF ? Please don't blind me with science, I'm a spanner man, I struggle to send an email

Send me a PM and explain how I should send them to you. Also, if interested, I have an original photo of my grandfather driving a new Citroen Kegresse, a civilian one.

Default Pix

Richard, and anyone else that does not know...simply send an email and ATTACH the photo/photos using say Outlook Express. If you click If you click on ATTACH you get the box which allows you to find the photo file, and you then juts click to attach and go on again.

I could very usefully use a Kegresse photo please!

Default Kegresse

It seems that the British War Department used a few Kegresse trucks, from around 1927 although the idea never took off apparently in the UK. The French and Poles seem to have used large numbers though!

Evening David:

Check your email.
I just scanned, saved and sent, no editing so some of the sizes may be out of the norm. I ldid not ID anything, just sent it and we can sort it out later.
Cheers
Bill

Thanks Bill! I have e mailed you back before I found that you had no ids. I will see what I can do then. Some look as though they may be Imperial War Museum shots.
