Default John Leadoux - R.I.P

Hi All,

One of our regular attendees at Corowa, John Leadoux from Bairnsdale Vic. passed away on the 8th March 2013

John discovered that he had bowel cancer on his way home from the Corowa Swim-In 7 years ago and had put up a hard fight for the last 7 years.

John was with us this year at Corowa, he was very unwell but wanted to come one last time. Dave and Elaine Pettman arranged for John and Judy to have a week at Corowa and he also visited a cousin at Deniliquin. John and Judy have been to about 15 Corowa Swim-In's, sometimes with his F15A and other times just modern.

John had restored his much loved F15A and was well on his way to finishing an F60L.

The funeral will be held at Bairnsdale, Victoria, on Tuesday 16th April 2013 at the Riviera Christian Centre, 103 Bairnsdale-Dargo Road, Bairnsdale commencing at 2.00pm.

Local KVE.Inc., MLU and VMVC members are welcome to bring their ex-military vehicles to honour a great bloke. There will be a big crowd so get there early (like 1:15pm).

Thanks Rick.
President KVE Inc.

Well, we laid John to rest today. More than 400 people came to pay their respects and somewhere in there were about10 MLUers with or without their wives. Not too bad when you consider that we are in the bush about 300km from Melbourne.

Johns last trip was in the back of his lovely F15A driven by one of his sons.

Regards Rick.

Default John

Thanks for the info and for posting the pic, Rick.

It was also good John was able to be with us at Corowa this year and I was able to have a talk to him.

And what a fitting way to travel to your own funeral too.

Anzac Day in Bairnsdale saw the Leadoux family out in John's F15A. It is really great to see that, after his recent passing, the family are using the Blitz in his memory.

The photo shows John's Blitz in the middle.

Thank you Judy, Chrissy Daniel and families for attending Anzac Day in Bairnsdale in the Blitz.
