Default My mother RIP

Since I regard many of you as close friends, I wanted to let you know my mother, Rietje Spoelstra-Blok, died on 5 September at 70 years of age. She had been ill with cancer for almost two years. Despite putting up a huge fight and winning two major battles, she lost the war, so to speak. On 11 September she was cremated after a remembrance ceremony where some 200 people turned up.

She was a very special woman and will be sorely missed.

Hanno

I was so sorry to hear of your sad loss. My wife has lost both her parents, but mine are thank God still with us at 80 and 77. Thank goodness she is no longer in any pain.

Thanks for your support, all! Although I have been away from under "mother's wings" for a very long time, it is a strange feeling when they are no longer there. . . .

Hanno, I'm very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. As children we expexct our parents to die one day, but we can never be fully prepared when it happens. My heartfelt sympathies to you and your family.
