Default Mother's name is Barbara?

Hi Karmen:

My mother's name is Barbara and I was born on Artillery Day (26 May) well actually she missed y a couple of hours (0230 hrs on 27 May) but it was still artillery day in Ottawa where my birth was registered!

St Barbara has many websites:

http://www.artillery.net/ is the Canadian artillery website and has all sorts of info about us Canukian Gunners.

http://www.army.mod.uk/ra/gunnernet/saint_barbara.htm is the Royal Artillery page regarding Her.

http://sill-www.army.mil/pao/pabarbar.htm is the US Field Artillery site about her.

http://www.gunnies.asn.au/st_barbara.htm is the Aussie version.

Have fun in your search!

Our Gunner tie is red zigzags on a blue background reminding us of the lightening that is a crucial part of Her legend.

Cheers and Ubique! Mike

Hey Mike, thanks! I enjoyed finding out about St. Barbara and her connection to things military. Barbara would have loved being Candadian with all of our rights and freedoms, especially for females

May lightening strike those who would destroy those rights and freedoms ... tonight I enjoyed my St. Barbara Day feast (great leftovers followed by homemade applepie)

Nice name for your Mom.
Nice Day to be born.
Nice tie.

Karmen

For many years, boxes carrying explosives were adorned with her likeness and to this day, magazines aboard French warships are called Sainte Barbe.

Default St Barbara

St Barbara is also the patron saint of Armourers. So to the men of Bluebell, I bid you Arte Et Marte
