AoS Question
What Unit is "156" on a solid colour (unknown) with a white bar below? Is this Cdn or Brit or both? Circa July 1944.

Re: AoS Question
Quote:
"156" w/white bar bottom, if it's on Churchill's, is 107th Regiment (King's Own), Royal Armoured Corps, 34th Army Tank Brigade (Jul 44) and depending on the time frame and/or operation, they would be under command of either Second British Army or First Canadian Army. (The background colour of the AoS was Green.) Cheers

AoS
Hello Mark,
According to Bouchery, in D Day to VE Day, Vol 2. white 156 with solid bar beneath is 107th RAC and 157 with bar is 147th RAC. As you state. But.... In Hodges / Taylor British Military Markings 1939 - 1945 it states white 156 with solid bar beneath is 147th RAC and 157 with bar is 107th RAC. Which is correct? Cheers Kevin : |
