Flathead Fuel Pump
I found this pump to installing in my FGT.
Made in england with hand primer. Do you know what vehicle it belongs to? It will work correctly in CMP Flathead? Change the position of inlet and outle of fuel....

Mariano, it is for Ford V8. It is a Brit type. The diaphragm is probably not suitable for modern fuel.

Delivery pressure is dictated by the spring under the diaphragm. It will be the same and in the realms of 2.5 to 3.0 psi. Put a modern diaphragm in it to cope with the high aromatic modern fuel.

And be aware that a British AC pump has a different diaphragm spindle than a North American AC pump. Difference is the British one has two notches in the spindle where it fits to the lever where as a US one has a slot in the spindle so it hooks over the lever. I usually get a modern kit for a Land Rover Series 3 to get the correct diaphragm.

I keep collecting fuel pumps. Another one found. Seems to be the best for my Flathead

Interesting breather valve Mariano. I've not seen that before. There is usually just a hole. I wonder about its original application.

Carburettor fuel line length
Quote:
It could be for the PCV valve equipped engines that use a spectacle plate below the carburettor to draw the crankcase fumes into the manifold. The plate is about 1/4" thick so it raises the carburettor thereby increasing the length between the fuel pump and the carburettor. Firsthand experience- I bent up one wrong length fuel line before I realised this! Cheers,

Hand priming is a necessity in Canadian conditions. Batteries that don't have a lot of cold cranking amps, trying to turn over reluctant engines, always need a little liquid help. I used them in M38A1 and M37 series trucks in service, and was grateful they worked.
