Ron,

It looks like some kind of small bulldozer or tractor, but I am not sure which type or brand. Maybe a Cletrac aircraft tractor?

A Studebaker Weasel looks a lot different, more like a tub with some suspension parts hanging on.

Hello Alex,
Thanks for your reply, There is a short piece of track lying just behind the machine, According to the owner of the station it was ex army and was there when he took over the station 40 years ago,

Looks like the remains of a post war loyd crawler.
They were made up of loyd carrier parts, track, wheels, V8 Engine etc as an attempt to make money from left over / suplus parts and build a small crawler for the farming community.
A friend of mine restored one here in New Zealand around 20+ Years ago as I recall it was an intertesting looking little thing but was a bit of a pig when it came to using it in the mud.

I will see what I can find.
Just as a note the shroud that you see is the firewall (for want of a better term) the sticky up thing is the exhaust. In front of the shroud is where the V8 sat, the driver to the rear, the lever sticking up is either 1 of the tillers or the gear stick. the Narrowed (from memory) V8 Diff would be on the back. The cross tub is also visable. Quite an ingenious machine to use up all of the suplus parts, pity they wern't a hugh success as we may have had a source of parts for our projects now.
