Default BESA information...

Does anyone have any information on the BESA MGs? Jim Burrill and I (plus our third partner, Don) are going to have to get a BESA of some sort working for the Humber this fall/winter and I'm wondering on my evenutal plans. Luckily I have two parts kits AND some ammo cans.

Does anyone have any good sources for information on these? There's obviously not a bible called the BESA Gun saga (or is there?).

Any good photos or snippets or accounts of how they work? Two other chaps will be needing information as well, both Randy Hovey and Norman Barr (both are working up Daimler AC projects).

Hi Jim
I am almost embarassed to respond to your friends query about the Bessa. I know I owe you a gazillion email responses. I am making headway with the last item you were asking about.
Anyway I have a bocklet called "Tank Guns ands Mountings". It is book 1B and deals with the 6PR and the Besa. It shows some exploded views of the Besa, stripping, assembly, stoppages and tools. There is also a page on headstamp markings and a photo of the ammo box. Tomorrow I will try and take a couple of photos and post them if they will show any detail.
Cheers,
Barry

Barry, any help would be useful. Thanks!

As I said, I have two parts kits, I'm going to investigate possibilities of reactivating one in a legal fashion if possible. Question is what accessories should go with it as well. We'll probably try to get some Oxy Propane setups going as well and use one of the barrel/front receiver assemblies for fabricating a dummy that we can use for proper appearance until we get them all sorted out.
