We are a polish reconstruction group. We have a reconstructed Canada CMP 15 vehicle and we represent ourselves by wearing polish army attire in England.

In 2004, we attended D-Day in Normandy for the 60th anniversary.

In 2009, we are planning on driving to D-Day in a rebuilt Canada Gun Tractor, the last of the war series 1944/1945.

We are in need of any pictures, drawings, dimensions to help us with our build.

Jan,

There is some information about the 1945 7B3 model FAT on this forum - there are a couple of survivors in Argentina.

Regards,
Hanno

Note that the fourth picture shows a Morris-Commercial C8 FAT, not a Ford or Chevrolet FAT.

It looks like even Gregg could make mistakes!! These are all out of his Military Vehicles Profiles.

Default Bill Gregg

I'll have to go rip that page out of my copy! There is no way the rest of the truth should be forced to lie side by side with (gasp!), an error!

Are you looking for the 4x4 or prototype 6x6 version?

Meanwhile of the 4x4 FAT with 7B3 body, quite a few pictures were posted on MLU:
see http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=16678
and http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=22614
for example.

Hanno

While attaching the pictures to Mariano's postings, I noted the design of the cab was altered. If you look closely, you can see the cab frame extends outward at the rear to merge with the rear part of the body which is wider than the standard Cab 13.

Interesting observation Hanno. Never noticed that before! "Armed" with this knowledge...it's quite obvious when you look at the fender, floor plates and lockers.

By the way, does anyone know if any of these 7B3 bodied FAT's arrived in NWE before the end of ww2?

Alex

Alex,

Me neither; I had a closer look at one of the constructional drawings above, and noted the body is integral (cab and rear body are one).

Hanno

PS: now merged with earlier thread on the same subject

Default FGT 7B3 in Portugal

Mariano Paz spotted this snippet in Wheels & Tracks magazine no. 60. This photo was taken by Johan Dieffenbach in Portugal. This is the only indication I know of that the FGT with 7B3 body was used by the Portuguese Army
