Civvy Tilly's
Hello everybody,
I'm looking for photo's (pref. colour) of Austin Tilly's in civilian service. I've been checking out the sites of the British an d Dutch Tilly register, but I can't find more than two pics of civvy coloured tilly's in a derelict state. And out there on the internet there don't seem to be any photo's of civvy one's. (and i take they would have been used in the post-war years ) The reason i ask is that I'm in a Tilly group-build next January in Eindhoven. And I want to make a model that's different from the rest. http://www.scalemodelfactory.nl/2011tillymarathon.html Any help and/or directions in where to find more info on them are greatly appreciated, Barry Last edited by scale-modeller; 06-12-10 at 07:00. |

A "Tilly" in Greece.
Hi Barry,
Have a look at a recent (Aug2010) couple of photos of the only known Austin Tilly 10 survivor in Greece. That beautiful vehicle belongs now to Athens MVC, and pending restoration to Hellenic Army, war era, colors. Kostas.

civvy tilly
Most Tillys are being restored in there military outfit. Pictures when they were used as civvy are probably all made before the digital camera's.
I manage to find a few, thanks to M. Shackleton of the Tilly Register. There are a few site with Civvy Tillys....try on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/berresf...ed/4128196260/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/25690839@N04/4127420307/ Cheers Arjan

Hi Barry.
As a matter of interest, my own Tilly was the one used by Tamiya for their latest 1/35th scale model. Since more surviving Austin Tilly's are in Malta than the rest of the world put together. And since there is a fellow owner and historian there, who I know would not mind helping with any information/pictures he has. I suggest you contact him and mention my name. He is Clive Sammut Regards Ron Pier Last edited by Hanno Spoelstra; 07-12-10 at 21:11. Reason: e-mail address edited to control spamming |

@Haridimos:
WOW, those Greek tillys look great. Very subtle painting, really like that. It's just that my greek is a little rusty, so the reading is a bit slow..... @Chalky: Thank you for the link to the site, didn't know that one. Barry |

Hello everyone,
This is what I was able to produce in our twelve hour build-marathon. We all started out with a closed box, so we were not able to do any prep-work. Thanks again to everyone that helped in finding ref-pictures, Barry And a overal-shot of what the rest of the crew produced: |
